GCSU Mentored Undergraduate Research Grant Initiative in Early Language and Literacy Development

The Deal Center supports the mission of Georgia College by sponsoring undergraduate students and their research projects that align with our vision of propelling every Georgia child to read proficiently and beyond. Additionally, research from a variety of disciplines such as child development, neuroscience, cognitive psychology, communication sciences and disorders, educational psychology, early childhood, and literacy education (K-12) have contributed to the understanding of children’s language and literacy development from birth to age 8. Therefore, the goal of this grant initiative is to support undergraduate research and advance collaborative, interdisciplinary early language and literacy approaches to address reading proficiency by the end of third grade.
