Caroline Lacksen
Early Literacy Professional Development Specialist
Caroline Lacksen is the Early Literacy Professional Development Specialist at the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy. She comes to the Deal Center with over six years of experience in elementary education and has taught in Clarke, Greene, and Baldwin counties in Georgia, as well as abroad in Costa Rica, France, and Italy. She holds a BSEd and a MEd in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, along with Gifted and ESOL endorsements. Caroline has served as a Local School Governance Team teacher representative, an ELA curriculum development committee member, a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Corporate Board member and program facilitator, and has participated in the Governor's School Leadership Academy as a teacher leader. She is passionate about supporting those who support learners, and is committed to promoting and advancing the statewide mission of The Deal Center at Georgia College & State University. Caroline enjoys residing in Milledgeville with her husband, Will, their cat, Sanford, and dog, Craigie.
