Executive Director
The Executive Director will be responsible for advancing the statewide mission and executing the overall strategic vision and management of the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy. The vision, Propelling Every Georgia Child to Read Proficiently and Beyond, will guide the Executive Director in building on the firm foundation of the center and to advance the collaborative work of improving the reading achievement of students by third grade.
Requirements
Master's degree in early language, literacy, K-12 school administration or equivalent education
Ten (10) years of leadership experience in early language and literacy, higher education, foundations, or related nonprofit organizations of similar size to the Deal Center.
Early Literacy Professional Development Specialist
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Early Literacy Professional Development Specialist will plan and develop a statewide professional development program in early language and literacy for teachers of children kindergarten to third grade, literacy coaches, principals, superintendents, and other school leaders.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy, Reading Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field or Reading Endorsement with a minimum of 3- 5 years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience.
Experience supporting adult learning, coaching, and facilitation.
Program Manager
The Program Manager at the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy will manage the Deal Center's statewide professional learning program including initiatives and events as well as community engagement and early language and literacy mini-grants. The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director, other leadership staff, and lead the Program Team (Professional Development Specialists and Program Assistant) to execute the development and management of professional learning programs, initiatives, and events. The Program Manager will have a range of administrative, operational, and programmatic responsibilities including providing support to the Executive Director for programs, event planning, and fundraising. The Manager is deemed a leadership role and works in collaboration with other leaders at the Deal Center to coordinate the efforts of the Deal Center to meet its statewide and strategic plan goals.
Requirements
Earned Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Early Childhood Education, Early Literacy, or related field.
Considerable knowledge of birth to 3-year-old, pre-school, and Kindergarten to grade 3 school culture related to early language and literacy evidence-based instruction and assessment practices.
3 to 5 years’ experience in advanced management role.
Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitator, and organizational skills.
